Captain's Cabin

Captain's Cabin is a compact retreat for two on a small holiday complex just outside Charmouth. The 30-acre site has two small lakes, and the cabin sits on the Jurassic Coastal Path diversion, so coast walks start at the door. The Jurassic Coastal Bus stops at the bottom of the drive. The beach, pubs, a restaurant and shops are within walking distance, and a path through the shared grounds leads on to Charmouth and Lyme Regis.

Everything shares one open-plan room: a lounge and dining area with a bistro-style table, and a double bed with drawer storage beneath it. A built-in wardrobe and a small chest of drawers hold clothes. The kitchen is separate, with an electric hob and oven, a microwave and a fridge with a freezer compartment. The living room has a Smart TV, a Blu-ray player and a radio, and the shower room has a WC. Reach the door by a set of external steps or by a longer flat path to the courtyard.

Outside, a small shared courtyard with a table and chairs sits by the entrance, and the shared lawn has seating and a barbecue. Parking is off the road and plentiful. A shared laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer is open to guests for a small charge. The water supply is private and not suitable for drinking, though it is fine for showering and boiling, so bottled water is left in the cabin.

No children or babies can stay. One dog is allowed, and additional charges may apply. Confirm the pet policy when booking. The cabin suits a couple who want a small base for the coast path and are happy to share the grounds.
