Oak Shepherd Hut

Oak Shepherd Hut sits in an area of private woodland at Monkton Wyld, and Charmouth is 2.9 miles away. It is a single-storey hut with one open-plan room: a double bed, a kitchenette, a dining area and a sitting area with a woodburning stove. A shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC completes the layout. Electric central heating is fitted.

The site is reached by a private gravel track, there is off-road parking for one car, and there are steps up to the hut, so take care. The woodland has a stream, and deer, pheasants and other birds visit. The nearest shop is 2.3 miles away and the nearest pub 2.2 miles. The Hunters Lodge Inn at Raymonds Hill is a short drive away, and Charmouth has the Heritage Coast Centre and guided fossil walks.

One well-behaved dog is welcome, smoking is not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. With a single double bed, the hut suits a couple who want a woodland stay with a fire-pit and stove.
