Apple Mead

Apple Mead is a three-bedroom cottage in Shipton Gorge, reached along a streamside path that passes three other properties and then across a small gravelled courtyard. It sleeps five, in two double bedrooms and a single, all on the first floor. Guests must be aged 3 or over, as no children under 3 or babes in arms can be accepted.

The sitting room has a wood burner, and the first basket of logs is included from October to the end of April. Night storage and electric panel heaters heat the cottage. There is a TV with a DVD player and Freeview channels, and a selection of books and board games. Two steps lead down from the sitting room to the kitchen, which has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and a washing machine. The Nespresso machine needs pods, and none are provided.

There are two bathrooms: a downstairs shower room with a walk-in shower, and an upstairs bathroom with a bath and a shower over it. The garden is enclosed and has patio furniture. Off-road parking is available for two cars, but EV charging is not possible. Smoking is not allowed inside or outside the cottage, and neither are barbecues.

The pub is within 500 metres, the shop within 2 miles and the beach 2 miles away. Dogs are not allowed. The cottage suits a couple, or a family with children aged 3 and over, who want a pub close by, with the shop and the beach both about 2 miles away.
