Rose Cottage - Powerstock

Rose Cottage is a Grade II listed cottage in the middle of Powerstock, a village near Bridport and not far from Shipton Gorge. The front door opens into a country kitchen with both an oil-fired Aga and an electric Aga. The cottage also has a microwave, a dishwasher and a wine cooler. Next door, a utility room has a washing machine and a fridge/freezer, and a bathroom and a door to the garden lead off it.

The lounge is set around an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner, and the first basket of logs is included from October to April. There is a Smart TV there, and TVs in the king-size and twin bedrooms. The staircase rises from the kitchen to three bedrooms, a king-size, a twin and a single, so the cottage sleeps five, and a second bathroom completes the first floor. Both bathrooms have a shower over the bath. The age of the building brings some changes of level and low doorways.

The enclosed garden has established borders, a herb garden, a lawn reached by steps, a patio with furniture and a charcoal barbecue. The village church is close by, and you can hear its bells. One off-road space is in front of the garage, with more roadside parking subject to availability.

The pub is 100 metres away, the beach 5 miles and the shop 4 miles. Dogs are not allowed. The cottage suits a family of five, or friends, who like an old building with character and a pub on the doorstep.
