April Cottage - Bridport

April Cottage is in Birdsmoor Gate, near Charmouth and not far from Whitchurch Canonicorum, looking out over fields and farmland at the back. It sleeps four in two bedrooms, and the layout suits two couples or a small family.

Downstairs, the living room has a wood burner, with the first basket of logs supplied, and a Smart TV. The kitchen/dining room at the back has an electric oven and hob, a fridge with a freezer box, a dishwasher and a microwave, and patio doors that open onto the terrace. The only bathroom is on this floor, with a shower over the bath and a WC.

Upstairs, one bedroom has a super-king-size bed that zips and links, and it can be made up as a twin if you ask in advance. The other has a double bed. The cottage is old, and the stairs are a little steeper than conventional ones, which is worth knowing if anyone in your party finds stairs difficult.

Outside, the private patio has outdoor dining furniture and a gas barbecue. Two cars can park off-road beside the cottage. Dogs are not allowed. The pub in Marshwood is 1.4 miles away, the nearest shop 2 miles and the beach 8 miles. Lambert's Castle and Pilsdon Pen, both Iron Age hillforts, are nearby for walkers.
