Avon Riverside Lodge

Avon Riverside Lodge looks over the River Avon in Christchurch, and the layout is turned upside down: the three bedrooms are on the entrance level and the living space is upstairs. The house is semi-detached and reached by a shared drive beside the owners' home. It sleeps six.

The bedrooms are a king-size, a double and a twin, and the king-size has doors straight onto the garden. A single shower room with a WC serves them, with a second WC separate. Upstairs, the kitchen, dining space and lounge share one open room. The kitchen has a gas hob, an electric oven, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a wine fridge and a countertop machine for boiling and chilled filtered water. The lounge has a wood burner, with the first basket of logs included from October to April, and a Smart TV. Bi-fold doors lead to a balcony with room for at least two. The fridge/freezer and tumble dryer are at the back of the garage. A travel cot and a highchair are available.

The garden is laid out in terraces with seating for up to eight and a gas barbecue. It has changes of level and unfenced drops, so children and dogs need watching. One dog is allowed, and extra charges may apply.

Parking is on the shared drive for two cars, and an electric vehicle charging point on the garage is paid for directly to the owner. The beach is 2 miles away; pubs, restaurants and shops are within a mile. Fishing permits can be requested from the local angling association. Check-in is from 4pm. It suits a family or two couples who like being by the water and are happy with a garden that needs supervising.
