Barleycorn

Barleycorn is a stone-and-brick barn for two in the grounds of the owner's home at Boys Hill, near Sherborne. Everything is on one level, and the living space is open plan with a vaulted ceiling and original timber beams.

An L-shaped kitchen fills one corner, with an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher, a table-top freezer and a Tassimo coffee machine. A farmhouse table seats two. At the far end, carpeted seating faces a Smart TV and an electric fire with a wood-burner effect. The property has no washing machine. The bedroom has a super-king-size bed, which can be made up as two 3-foot singles on request, and an en-suite wet room with a shower and WC.

Doors from the bedroom open to a private, enclosed garden with a lawn and a furnished patio, overlooking paddocks. Two cars can park privately. Between October and April the owner charges a weekly winter fuel supplement, paid directly to the owner. Check-out is early, before 09:30.

One dog is allowed, with additional charges that may apply. A welcome pack is provided, and a travel cot and highchair are available. Shop, pub and restaurant are 2.5 miles away and the beach is 22 miles. The barn suits a couple, or two friends who want separate beds, who are happy to drive for everything.
