Bay View - Friars Cliff

Bay View is in Friars Cliff, in the Christchurch area, and it was built in 2022 to Passive House Standard, which means it is highly insulated and energy efficient. It sleeps two and is adjacent to the owners' home, with its own private entrance.

The entrance opens into one open-plan room with a polished concrete floor, a Smart TV and a table for meals. Next door are a galley kitchen and a shower room with a wet-room-style shower and WC. The kitchen has an electric oven, an induction hob, a microwave, a dishwasher, a fridge, a table-top freezer and a Nespresso machine. The bedroom has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed, which can be set up as two 3ft singles on request, and you can glimpse the sea from it. Outside is an open veranda, but the property has no garden of its own.

Off-road parking is for one car, and electric vehicle charging is on site, with the charge calculated on usage and payable directly to the owner. The beach, a pub and a shop are all within 100 metres. A highchair and travel cot can be requested, and a double sofa bed can be added in the lounge on request, though the booking is for two. Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is before 10am.

No dogs are allowed. It suits a couple who want to be beside the sand without a long walk.
