Bluebell - Dorset

Bluebell is one of the yurts in a secluded field at the back of a former dairy farm near Shaftesbury. They overlook paddocks and look across to Duncliffe, and hares, foxes, deer, badgers and many birds visit regularly. The yurt sleeps four.

Inside is a single studio-style room with a double wrought-iron bed and two Victorian-style day beds. The yurt has its own electricity for lighting and for charging devices, plus a one-ring induction hob for hot drinks. A wood-burning stove heats it and logs are included. Two folding beds and a travel cot can be requested directly from the owner.

Washing and cooking happen in the Old Haybarn nearby. Your private shower room there locks, and it has a walk-in shower, a WC and underfloor heating. You also use a shared kitchen with an electric oven and hob, a microwave and your own allocated fridge and cupboards. The same building has a communal lounge and dining area with toys, games and a TV, and there is a shared games room with table tennis and a pool table.

Outside, children have a play area with wooden equipment, wendy houses and a trampoline, and the whole site is enclosed. Each yurt has a table and benches, a barbecue and a private fire pit. Therapy treatments in the yurt can be booked directly with the owner. The pub is 1.8 miles away and the shop 3.8 miles. There is parking for one car and CCTV at the entrance and around the camping grounds. No dogs. Check-in is from 15:00. It suits a family who want room for children to roam and play.
