Daisy - Dorset

Daisy is a yurt for four, under four miles from Shaftesbury, with Sherborne 14 miles to the west. Longleat, Stonehenge and Salisbury are all within 30 miles. Each yurt stands in open grounds but is screened for privacy, and the whole site is fully enclosed.

The one room is studio-style: a double wrought-iron bed and two Victorian-style single day beds, made up in white linen. Two folding beds can be requested from the owner directly, as can a travel cot. Electricity inside the yurt runs the lights and charges devices. A wood-burning stove (logs included) heats it, and a one-ring induction hob handles tea or soup.

The Old Haybarn, on site, holds your private shower room, which locks and has a walk-in shower, a WC and underfloor heating. Meals can be cooked in its shared kitchen, where you get your own fridge space and cupboards alongside an electric oven and hob and a microwave. There is a communal lounge and dining area with toys, games and a TV, and a games room with table tennis and a pool table.

Your outdoor picnic and sitting area has a table, benches, a parasol, a barbecue, a drinking water tap and a private fire pit. A 15-mile cycle trail along an old railway line is five miles from the site, and riding schools are nearby. The pub is 1.8 miles away and the shop 3.8 miles. There is one off-road parking space. CCTV covers the entrance and the outside of the camping grounds. Dogs are not allowed. Arrival is from 15:00. It suits a couple who want a screened yurt, or a family of four.
