Buttercup - Dorset

Buttercup is a yurt for four on a fully enclosed glamping site, under four miles from Shaftesbury. Inside, one studio-style room holds a double wrought-iron bed and two Victorian-style single day beds in white linens. The yurt has its own electricity supply, which runs the lights and charges devices.

A wood-burning stove sits at the centre and logs are included. For hot drinks or soup there is a one-ring induction hob inside the yurt. Proper cooking is done in a shared kitchen in the Old Haybarn, which has an electric oven and hob, a microwave and a fridge and cupboards allocated to you. A private, lockable shower room in the same building has a walk-in shower, a WC and underfloor heating. Two folding beds can be requested from the owner directly, and so can a travel cot.

Your own picnic area outside has a table, benches, a parasol, a barbecue, a drinking water tap and a private fire pit. On site there is also a shared games room with table tennis and a pool table, a play area with wooden equipment, wendy houses and a trampoline, and a communal lounge with toys, games and a TV.

A 15-mile cycle trail along an old railway line is five miles away, and Todber Manor Fishing Lakes are within a mile. The pub is 1.8 miles away and the nearest shop is 3.8 miles away. There is off-road parking for one car, and CCTV covers the site entrance and the outside of the camping grounds. Dogs are not allowed. Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out before 10:00. It suits a family with children who want a campsite feel without bringing a tent.
