Foxglove - Dorset

Foxglove is a yurt for four that suits families, because the site is fully enclosed and has plenty for children outdoors. There is a trampoline, wendy houses, wooden play equipment and a disc golf course. Shaftesbury is less than four miles away.

The yurt itself is a single studio-style room with a double wrought-iron bed and two Victorian-style single day beds, dressed in white linens. It has its own electricity for lights and charging. A wood-burning stove sits at the heart of the room with logs included, and a one-ring induction hob is there for hot drinks or soup. The owner can supply two folding beds or a travel cot on request.

Cooking, washing and indoor games move to the Old Haybarn. It holds your locked shower room with a walk-in shower, WC and underfloor heating, a shared kitchen with an electric oven and hob, microwave and a private fridge, a lounge and dining area with toys, games and a TV, and a games room with table tennis and a pool table. Back outside the yurt, a table, benches, parasol, barbecue, water tap and fire pit are yours.

In the neighbouring hamlet, a mile away, Todber Manor Fishing Lakes are open to anglers, and two local centres run rides. A 15-mile cycle trail on an old railway line is five miles from the door, and Sherborne is 14 miles away. The pub is 1.8 miles away and the shop 3.8 miles. One car can park off the road. CCTV covers the entrance and the outside of the camping grounds. Dogs are not allowed. Check-in is from 15:00.
