Bramble Cottage - Weymouth

Bramble Cottage is a detached cottage in Upwey, reached from the roadside by a shared drive that leads to its private entrance. Inside, there is a step up into the country-style kitchen, which has a range-style electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher. There is room for two to eat at a table there.

Next door the open-plan lounge and dining room has an open fire, with the first basket of logs included, a TV and a table for family meals. Winding stairs lead up to the first floor, where a single and a double bedroom look to the front and the king-size bedroom is at the rear with an en-suite WC and views over pastureland. The bathroom has a shower over the bath. The bedrooms sit within the eaves, so levels change and head height is restricted in places. A travel cot is available on request.

From the kitchen a door opens onto a narrow path beside a chalk stream, leading to the enclosed courtyard garden. It has a patio with furniture, and you hear the stream from it. The water is shallow, but the surfaces are uneven and the stream runs close to the path, so take care. Parking is on the road at the front, subject to availability. The beach is 3.5 miles away, and the shop and pub are within walking distance.

Dogs are not allowed. The cottage suits a small family or friends who like open fires and are comfortable with a winding staircase and low ceilings.
