Riverhouse Lodge

Riverhouse Lodge is a recently refurbished house in the village of Upwey, at the foot of the Wey Valley's chalk hills and 3.7 miles from Weymouth. The layout runs over two levels: the ground floor holds the sitting room and both bedrooms, and the open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting space is on the lower ground floor.

Both bedrooms are doubles with wooden furnishings and an en-suite shower room, so the lodge sleeps four. The farmhouse-style kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge-freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher, and there is a utility area to the rear for washing and bins. A TV, DVD player, stereo and wifi are provided, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. A cot and a highchair can be supplied.

There are three steps up to the property and three more to the kitchen, so guests need to be comfortable with steps. The garden is Mediterranean in style, with a picnic area, a table and chairs. Parking is off-road in a shared car park, with room for a boat, but it is some way from the house, which is why electric vehicles cannot be charged here. The nearest pub is 0.7 miles away and the nearest shop is 1.8 miles away.

No pets and no smoking are allowed. Check-in is at 2pm, check-out at 10am, and bookings start and end on a Saturday only. It suits two couples, or a small family, who want ground-floor bedrooms with their own bathrooms.
