Buccaneer Cottage

Buccaneer Cottage stands beside the Old Harbour near Brewers Quay in Weymouth, and the harbour is in view from all of its windows. Fishing boats and yachts pass right in front, and the old town bridge lifts to let larger vessels into the inner marina. The kitchen and the sitting room with dining area are on the first floor.

Three bedrooms across three floors sleep six. On the ground floor are a double with an en-suite shower room and a twin whose beds can be made up as a king-size if the owner is asked at least 14 days before booking. A second-floor double also has an en-suite shower room, and the main bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. The kitchen has a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher, and a cot and highchair are available. Gas central heating, bed linen, towels, fuel and power are all included.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome; smoking is not allowed. Parking is on the street: a Zone L permit is available, but spaces depend on availability and cannot be guaranteed. The nearest pay-and-display car park is Nothe Car Park, a five-minute walk away using the Just Park app. The harbour is two minutes from the door, a shop and pub five minutes and the beach ten. Fayre in the Square, usually on the late May bank holiday weekend, and the Wessex Folk Festival, usually the first weekend of June, close the harbour and Hope Square to traffic.

It suits a family or a group of friends, up to six in all, who are happy to climb between floors and want to bring dogs to the harbour.
