Church Cottage

Church Cottage is a thatched house in Whitchurch Canonicorum, with the village church directly beside it. Three bedrooms sleep six: a king-size, a double and a twin. They are linked with no separate access, because bedrooms 2 and 3 are reached through bedroom 1, and the upstairs bathroom through bedrooms 1 and 2. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs and one on the ground floor, and both have a bath.

The kitchen has a gas hob and an electric oven, a fridge/freezer, a washer/dryer, a dishwasher and a coffee machine, and there is a separate dining room. The sitting room has a woodburning stove. Oil heating, fuel and power, bed linen and towels are included, and the house has a TV, a CD player, a radio and WiFi. A cot is available.

A stream runs through the rear garden, so families with young children will want to supervise them. The garden has a patio, lawn and furniture, and off-road parking takes two cars. The pub is 0.2 miles away and the shop 1.6 miles.

Up to two dogs are accepted, and smoking is not allowed. A short staircase has no handrail, and the owner warns that the layout and age of the house may not suit elderly or infirm guests. It suits a family or a group of adults who are happy to share walk-through bedrooms.
