Whitchurch - The Hayloft

The sleeping plan at The Hayloft changes from floor to floor. It is one of two detached barn conversions beside working farmland at Whitchurch Canonicorum and sleeps seven. On the ground floor, a step up leads to a double bedroom with a door onto the garden and to a shower room with WC. Upstairs are a double with exposed beams, a skylight and an en-suite shower room, and a triple room with three single beds and an en-suite bathroom with a bath.

The living space is open plan, with exposed beams and original barn windows. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine, with a dining table close by. The lounge has a wood burner and a Smart TV, and the first basket of logs is supplied from the beginning of October until the end of March. There is a hairdryer.

An enclosed garden looks over the farmland, with a decked area, garden furniture, a barbecue and a lawn beyond. Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges possible. Off-road parking is ample. No electric vehicle can be charged here, whatever the circumstances; the closest charging is at West Bay, Chideock, Charmouth, Bridport or Axminster.

A mile down the road, or under a mile across the fields on foot, is the main farm, where guests may see the robotic milking or say hello to the cows and sheep. The beach and shops are 3 miles from the barn and there is a pub within walking distance. The Hayloft suits a family or a group of up to seven who want their own garden and are happy to drive for the coast.
