Churn House

Churn House is an 18th-century barn conversion in Dewlish, near Piddletrenthide, in a corner of a courtyard at the edge of a 500-acre dairy and arable farm. Everything is on one floor, with four bedrooms for eight guests: two super king-size rooms whose beds can be zipped apart as twins on request, and two doubles. A bathroom with a bath and a separate shower is supported by a second shower room, and a travel cot is available.

Brick and flint walls, pine panelling and exposed beams run through the rooms. The kitchen/diner has an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, and the sitting room has an electric coal-effect fire. Two TVs, a stereo and WiFi are provided, and a highchair is available. Oil central heating is fitted, and fuel, power, a starter pack for the fire, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Guests share a heated outdoor pool, open from 15 April to 15 October, and a games room with table tennis, a pool table and table football. There is a private patio with furniture, and a shared enclosed courtyard with a barbecue. Off-road parking is ample, and an electric vehicle charging point is billed through an app, with details from the owner on arrival.

The pub is 0.2 miles away and the shop 1.8 miles. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, smoking is not allowed, and a security deposit is payable. Catering can be arranged beforehand. It can be booked together with Manor Farm Barn, and the two sleep 23. It suits two families or a group of friends who want to stay on one level.
