Dairy Cottages - Pig Cottage

Pig Cottage is a one-bedroom barn conversion, completed in 2019, in the hamlet of Wigbeth at Horton, near Verwood. It sleeps two. A path leads from the parking area to the door, and the off-road space holds one car, with a second normally available on request.

Inside, the open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining room rises to a full-height vaulted ceiling and has a wood burner (the first basket of wood is included, October to May) and a Smart TV. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a fridge with an ice compartment, a dishwasher, a microwave and a washing machine. The king-size bedroom has a free-standing bath and a separate walk-in shower, with a door through to the en-suite WC. Heating and hot water come from air-source heat pumps.

The enclosed, courtyard-style garden holds a spa tub with massage jets, a patio with furniture, a charcoal BBQ and an artificial lawn. Bring your own towels for the tub. Everyone staying in the complex can use the shared paddock.

A pay-as-you-go electric vehicle charging point is on site. Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. The cottage is not suitable for wheeled mobility aids. The shop is 3 miles away and the pub 2.5 miles. It suits a couple who want a hot tub and a wood burner, with a dog if they like.
