Goodrest

Goodrest is a detached cottage on the edge of Verwood in East Dorset, with every room on one floor. It sleeps three across a double and a twin bedroom, and the two bedrooms share a family bathroom with a bath and a shower over it. Guests reach the front door along a stone path from a small front garden, and there are steps up to the property, so it is not suited to anyone who cannot manage steps.

You walk in through a kitchen and utility area, then pass the dining room into a hall that leads to the separate sitting room, which has an electric fire. The kitchen has an electric oven, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge and a washing machine. There is a TV with Freeview, a CD player and radio, and WiFi. Gas central heating keeps the cottage warm, and fuel, power and bed linen are all included in the rent. Towels are not provided, so bring your own.

A lawned garden runs around the cottage, with garden furniture. Two off-road parking spaces sit side by side, so two cars fit. The shop and pub are an 8-minute walk away, and Ringwood is 5 miles from the village.

Some booking rules are strict. Only guests aged over 16 can stay, stays are for 7 nights only, and the cottage is for holiday use, not commercial lets. Pets and smoking are not allowed. It suits three friends or relatives who want a single-floor layout with a garden and their own parking, and who are happy to leave the dog at home.
