Dairy Cottages - Ploughman's Row No 1

Ploughman's Row No 1 is one of four barn-conversion cottages around a private courtyard in the hamlet of Wigbeth at Horton, near Verwood. It is all on one storey and it sleeps four. You reach the private door through a shared courtyard garden at the front.

The open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining room has a beamed, vaulted ceiling and a kitchen island. The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven, an induction hob, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a fridge/freezer and a microwave. The Smart TV in the lounge is internet-only, with terrestrial channels through pre-loaded apps. Heating and hot water come from air-source heat pumps.

Both bedrooms are king-size, and one of them is a zip-and-link that can be arranged as twin beds on request. One en-suite has a shower open to the room, with a separate WC, and the other has a shower room with a WC. Bifold doors from the kitchen open onto the enclosed courtyard-style garden, which has furniture, and there is a shared paddock. A travel cot and highchair are available.

Parking is one off-road space, with a second normally available on request. A pay-as-you-go electric vehicle charging point is on site. Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. The cottage is not suitable for wheeled mobility aids. The shop is 3 miles away and the pub 2.5 miles. It suits two couples travelling together, with a dog if they like.
