Dukums House

Dukums House is one of a complex of four properties at Melbury Abbas, near Shaftesbury. It sleeps eight in four bedrooms, and three of those are on the ground floor: a king-size, a super-king zip-and-link with a dressing room and en-suite, and a twin. A second king-size is upstairs.

The main living space is a single lounge, kitchen and dining room under an apex ceiling with exposed beams, oak flooring and sliding doors, with a wood burner (logs included) and a Smart TV and DVD player. The kitchen has a breakfast bar and island, two electric ovens, a hob, a microwave, an air fryer, a fridge with an ice compartment, a dishwasher and a Lavassa coffee machine. A utility room holds a fridge-freezer and washing machine. The super-king can be made up as twin beds if you ask when booking. The en-suite has a handheld shower over the bath, and a separate shower room with WC is also on the ground floor. Every bedroom has a TV.

Sliding doors open on to a private terrace with garden furniture, a barbecue and a wood-fired hot tub, logs included. There is an enclosed garden with furniture and a charcoal BBQ, large shared gardens, and a shared open-sided games barn with table tennis and table football. Parking is ample. Breezy Ridge Vineyard and Compton Abbas airfield are within 1.3 miles on downward footpaths.

Dogs are not allowed. Check-in is from 16:30 and check-out before 10:00. The house suits a family or two couples travelling together who want bedrooms on the ground floor as well as upstairs.
