No 2 Curwens

No 2 Curwens is one of a complex of four properties at Melbury Abbas, near Shaftesbury. It sleeps six across three bedrooms, all upstairs: a king-size, a twin zip-and-link and a full-sized bunk room. The twin can be made into a super-king if you ask when booking.

Downstairs, the galley kitchen leads into an open-plan lounge and dining area with oak flooring, exposed beams and a wood burner (logs included). The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, an air fryer, a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a Lavassa coffee machine. A wet room with shower and WC sits on the ground floor. Upstairs, a bathroom has a bath, a separate shower and a WC. Each bedroom has its own TV, with exposed stonework and beams, and there is underfloor heating downstairs with radiators above.

Outside the kitchen door is a private terrace with garden furniture, a barbecue and a wood-fired hot tub, with logs included. There is an enclosed garden with a charcoal BBQ, large shared gardens, and a shared open-sided games barn with table tennis and table football. Off-road parking is ample. The vineyard at Breezy Ridge and Compton Abbas airfield are within 1.3 miles on downward footpaths, and Shaftesbury town centre is within 2.7 miles along country lanes.

One small to medium dog is welcome, and extra cleaning charges may apply if the dog rules are not followed. An internal door to No 1 Curwens can be opened on request when both are booked together. Check-in is from 16:30 and check-out before 10:00. The house suits a family or a group of friends of up to six who want a hot tub and a bunk room.
