Emblands Cottage Oaklands Farm

Emblands Cottage stands on Oaklands Farm at East Chelborough, near Beaminster, in rolling West Dorset farmland. You park on the gravel in front and go in through an oak porch. It sleeps four, in a king-size room and a double.

From the hallway, doors lead to the kitchen and the lounge/diner. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher, a fridge/freezer and a washing machine, and the lounge has a Smart TV. French doors open to a south-facing conservatory looking over the enclosed patio and the farmland beyond. Upstairs are the two bedrooms, both facing the rear garden, and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. Books and games are provided.

The enclosed patio has garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ on request, and there is a large shared garden. One dog is welcome, with additional charges that may apply, but not upstairs, and a stairgate is provided. Because the farm has livestock, dogs must be kept under strict control outside the cottage. The garden is enclosed but not dog-proof, so they need watching there too.

Off-road parking is for 2 cars, and arrival is from 5pm. The village shop in Halstock is 0.5 mile away, the pub is 2 miles and the beach 15 miles. In the lambing season, guests can see the newborn lambs by arrangement with the owner. It suits a couple or a family of four, with one dog if wanted, who can manage the stairs.
