Field End Retreat

Field End Retreat stands in the grounds of the owners' home at Higher Ansty, near Dorchester and Winterborne Stickland. It sleeps four in two bedrooms, but children under 16 are not accepted, so it is set up for four adults. A few steps lead up to the front door, with a WC just inside the entrance.

The open-plan lounge and dining area has a wood burner (the first basket of logs is included), a Smart TV, a Blu-ray player and patio doors onto the garden. In the kitchen you will find an electric oven and hob, microwave, filter coffee machine, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher. The king-size bedroom and the super-king bedroom, which splits into twins if you ask when booking, share a single shower room.

Down a few steps from the lounge is a fully enclosed garden with a raised patio, outdoor furniture and a charcoal BBQ. Parking is off-road for two cars. A pub, a convenience store and the Post Office are within walking distance, and you can walk from the property up to Rawlsbury Camp, an Iron Age hillfort. Weymouth beach is about 35 to 40 minutes by car.

One dog is allowed, with additional charges that may apply, and you are asked to call if you want to bring a second. It suits two couples or friends travelling without children who want a countryside base with a garden.
