Firkin Cottage

Firkin Cottage takes its name from the 72-pint barrel once used at the Devenish Brewery, which has since been converted. The cottage has been fully renovated and stands a short walk from Brewers Quay and Newton's Cove in Weymouth, slightly apart from the main town but close to the Old Harbour and Hope Square.

Four bedrooms sleep six across three floors. One double has an en-suite bath with a shower over it, and there is a separate single bedroom. The second floor holds another double and another single, along with a shower room, and the ground floor has a cloakroom. The house also has a kitchen, a utility room and a sitting room with a dining area, and the appliances include a washing machine and a dishwasher. A cot is available, and gas central heating, bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included.

Stairs are narrow and cottage-style, and there is a low doorway into the sitting room. The enclosed cottage garden at the back has a patio with garden furniture. A shop and pub are five minutes away, the harbour ten and the coastal walk five. The nearest pay-and-display car park is Nothe Car Park, a five-minute walk away, using the Just Park app. Pets and smoking are not allowed.

It suits a family or a group of friends of up to six who are comfortable on narrow stairs and want a garden within reach of the harbour.
