Harbour Edge

The bay window at Harbour Edge looks across Weymouth harbour, where fishing boats rock at their moorings and yachts and cruisers pass beneath the lifting bridge when it opens. The apartment is on the upper ground floor beside the harbour, reached from the street by seven steep steps, which make it a poor fit for anyone with limited mobility.

Inside the shared front hallway, the apartment's own front door opens into one open-plan room with kitchen, dining and sitting areas, all looking onto the harbour. Two bedrooms sleep four: a double with an en-suite shower room and a twin, with a separate bathroom that has a bath. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine, and a Smart TV, DVD player and WiFi are provided. A cot is available. Gas central heating, bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included.

The second bedroom opens onto an enclosed patio and terrace with furniture, looking towards Holy Trinity church. There is no parking at the property: the nearest pay-and-display car park, Nothe Car Park, is a 5-10 minute walk away and weekly permits are bought through the Just Park app. A pub is on the doorstep and a shop is two minutes away. Fayre in the Square, usually on the late May bank holiday weekend, and the Wessex Folk Festival, usually the first weekend of June, close the harbour and Hope Square to traffic, with some road closures and parking restrictions. Pets and smoking are not allowed.

It suits two couples, or a couple with a child, who are happy with steps and a short walk from the car.
