Harbourside House

Harbourside House stands next to the Old Harbour at Brewers Quay in Weymouth, and the bay window on each of its four floors looks over the water. The house was shown on Phil Spencer's History of Britain in 100 Homes. The decoration follows a sea and boat theme, and the rent includes fuel, power, bed linen and towels.

The kitchen and dining area are on the first floor, and so is a sitting room with a feature fireplace. Appliances include an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge-freezer, a washer/dryer and a dishwasher. On the ground floor, a games room has a pool table and a second feature fireplace, and there is a cloakroom too.

Four bedrooms spread over the second and third floors. Each floor has a king-size double with its own en-suite shower and a twin, and the second-floor twin can be changed to a super king-size double. A bathroom with a bath and shower over serves the second floor, with a shower room on the third. A cot and high chair are available.

The patio garden has furniture. Stairs are cottage style on every floor. No pets or smoking are allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. One permit for on-street Zone L parking is available, but spaces are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. The nearest pay and display car park is Nothe, a few minutes' walk away. A shop and pub are 5 minutes away, and the beach is 10 minutes away. Fayre in the Square (usually the late May bank holiday weekend) and the Wessex Folk Festival (usually the first weekend of June) close the harbour and Hope Square to traffic, which can mean road closures and parking restrictions. The house suits a large family or a group of friends who want a games room and a central harbour position.
