Homeleigh

Homeleigh is a one-bedroom cottage for two on a working farm at Salwayash, near Bridport and 3.5 miles from the coast. It is attached to the owners' home, with privacy for guests. Shops and pubs are 3 miles away and the beach is 3.5 miles.

Four steps lead up from the garden to the entrance, and the cottage is all on one level. The open-plan room has the kitchen along one wall, a dining space opposite and a lounge area with a Smart TV and a wood burner, with the first basket of logs included. The kitchen has an electric oven, an induction hob, a fridge/freezer, a microwave, a dishwasher and a washing machine. The ceiling slopes on one side because of the age of the building.

The bedroom has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed, which can be a twin if requested when booking, and an en-suite shower room with WC. A travel cot and highchair are available on request, but the cottage does not accept children over 2 years old.

Steps lead down from the entrance into an enclosed lawn with furniture and a charcoal barbecue. Parking for two cars is through a narrow pillared entrance, 2.38 metres wide, or by an alternative route through the farmyard to the rear entrance. Carp fishing on the farm is available for a fee and needs booking with the owner before arrival. Up to two dogs may come too, with an extra charge. The cottage suits a couple with a dog, or with a baby, who want a quiet farm setting.
