Knights Pightle

Knights Pightle is a one-bedroom cottage in Uploders, a small village in West Dorset near Bridport and not far from Shipton Gorge. It is reached by a little path through a private garden. It sleeps two, and children are not accepted.

Inside, the lounge has two armchairs, a sofa, a TV with a DVD player and a wood burner. A step up leads from the lounge into the kitchen, which has a dining table for two, an electric oven with an induction hob, a microwave and a fridge. In the adjoining utility room are a dishwasher, a washing machine and a freezer. The ground-floor bathroom is split in two, with a bath and an overhead shower in one room and the WC in the next. Wi-Fi is available.

The bedroom is up steep cottage-style stairs, under the eaves, so the head height is reduced in places. It has a double bed. Outside, the enclosed garden has a table and seating and some steps, and a stream runs through it. The stream is unfenced, which matters if you bring a dog. Parking is on the street nearby, and the shop is within 1 mile.

One dog is allowed, and additional charges may apply. The cottage suits a couple, with or without a dog, who can manage steep stairs and want a stream-side garden to sit in.
