The Spyway Inn

Guests at The Spyway Inn stay in a first-floor apartment above the pub in Askerswell, a village near Bridport and near Shipton Gorge. The way in is an internal staircase through the pub.

The open-plan living and dining room has a sofa, a dining table and a Smart TV with a Firestick, and the apartment has views over the rolling hills. The kitchenette has a fridge with no ice box, a kettle and a toaster. The bedroom has a king-size bed, and the shower room has a walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC. The rent covers fuel, power, bed linen and towels, and there is WiFi.

A breakfast hamper of bread, pastries, orange juice and jam is provided. Cooked breakfasts are available in the pub at weekends for an extra charge, and Sunday lunches are served on Sundays, with a later check-out possible for guests staying for lunch. The pub has live music in its garden on Saturday afternoons from May to August, finishing at 8pm. Guests can use the large communal pub garden, which has furniture and countryside views, and park in the Spyway Inn car park.

The apartment can be booked from Wednesdays to Sundays only, and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. A good housekeeping bond is payable, and smoking and pets are not allowed. The shop is 3.6 miles away and Bridport 3.8 miles. Good for a couple or a solo traveller who like having a pub downstairs.
