Lavender Cottage

Lavender Cottage is an end-terrace in Bourton, near Motcombe, on the edge of the Cranborne Chase AONB. It sleeps three: a king-size bedroom and a second bedroom with a small single bed that suits children or smaller adults. Both bedrooms are upstairs, and their ceilings are 6ft 8in high. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over, a basin and a WC.

Downstairs are a sitting room with a woodburning stove, a dining room and a kitchen with an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. A utility room holds the washing machine, a tumble dryer and an ironing board. Oil central heating is on, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. There is WiFi and a TV. The lower section of the staircase is open to the sitting room, which may not suit guests with limited mobility or anyone uncomfortable with open stairs.

The front garden is mostly enclosed and has a lawn and furniture, with off-road parking for two cars. One dog is welcome as standard, and a second and third dog can be requested. The garden has a few small gaps, so dogs should be supervised outside, and they must not be left alone in the cottage or the garden. A bond is payable, and smoking is not allowed.

The shop is 1 mile away and the pub 1.3 miles. Gillingham is 4.3 miles away and Wincanton 4.7 miles. It suits a couple with a dog, or a small family where the child takes the single bedroom.
