Little Steppes

Little Steppes is a stone cottage next to a church in Swanage, reached by a path with three steps up to the front door. The pub is 150 metres away, the shop 350 metres and the beach 1 mile. The nearest parking is on the street, 50 metres away. Dancing Ledge is a 2-mile walk, partly along the cliff tops.

Inside are beams and exposed Purbeck stone walls. The lounge/diner has a fireplace with a wood burner, with logs supplied from September to March, a Smart TV and a window seat. The kitchen has a beamed ceiling, a flagstone floor, an electric hob and oven, a fridge/freezer, a microwave and a washing machine. A utility room off the kitchen leads to the family bathroom, which has a shower over the bath. Steep stairs lead up to the two bedrooms, a king-size and a single, with some restricted head height.

A stable door from the kitchen opens on to the enclosed garden, which has a patio, garden furniture and steps up to a raised seating area facing the church. A shed holds a tumble dryer and secure storage for bikes. Little Steppes accepts a single dog, and additional charges may apply. Bring beach towels with you. Check-in opens at 4pm, and check-out is before 10am.

Little Steppes suits a couple with a dog, or a parent with a child, who are comfortable with steep stairs.
