Longwall Cottage

Longwall Cottage sits right beside the lake on an estate at Crossways, near Dorchester and close to Warmwell. A patio with furniture and a BBQ gives onto a small lawn that runs down to the water's edge and a private jetty with direct lake access. Parking is for one car beside the cottage, further cars use the estate's main car park, and there is an EV charging point.

Inside, the open-plan living and dining room has a wood burner, with a first basket of logs supplied, and a Smart TV. The kitchen has a breakfast bar, a hob, an oven, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a fridge/freezer. Upstairs are three bedrooms: a king-size with an en-suite shower room and a balcony with lake views, a double and a twin. A family bathroom with a WC completes the floor.

The estate has a restaurant and a private beach on site, and the shop is 0.5 miles away, with the pub at 1.5 miles. Shared facilities include a 25-metre heated outdoor swimming pool, a cold-water swimming lake, a cold plunge, a sauna, a relaxation yurt, lakeside treatment pods and a tennis court. Water sports hire runs from May to October, and a fishing licence must be bought in advance. Access to the pool and spa is payable on arrival. A refundable damage deposit is payable the week before arrival.

Quiet hours apply after 11pm, and hen and stag parties and work-related stays are not allowed. No dogs are allowed. The cottage suits a family or three couples who want the lake on the doorstep and are happy with the stairs between floors.
