Manhattan Beach

Manhattan Beach is an apartment in a converted former military base on the edge of Castletown, on the Isle of Portland. A private enclosed balcony runs the length of the flat and looks over Portland Marina and Chiswell Beach. Both double bedrooms open onto it, and so does the open-plan living area, which has a Smart TV, an armchair and seating that converts into a sofa bed.

One bedroom has an en-suite with a walk-in shower, basin and WC. The main bathroom has a bath with an overhead shower, a basin, a heated towel rail and a WC. The kitchen has an induction hob, an electric oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher, a coffee maker, a kettle and a toaster. WiFi, central heating, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent.

Guests can use the indoor swimming pool and gym on site at the complex. Pool access is by key fob, 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday, and it can close at any time for maintenance. Ring ahead to have the sauna and steam room switched on. Parking is in bay 67, the first bay on the right in front of the building. You collect a car park pass from the apartment to display on the windscreen and return it there when you leave. The shop and pub are 0.2 miles away.

The apartment takes adults only, aged over 20, with no children. From 1 July to 10 September, only 7-night bookings are taken. Pets and smoking are not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. It suits two couples, or one couple wanting two double bedrooms and a balcony.
