Mill Cottage - Swanage

Mill Cottage is a restored 17th-century mill cottage in the hamlet of Ulwell, on the outskirts of Swanage towards Studland. It has direct access onto the South West Coast Path, and Old Harry Rocks and Studland village are walkable from it. The beach is within half a mile, and a shop and pub are within a quarter of a mile.

The cottage is arranged over four floors. From the hallway, a few steps down lead to the double master bedroom, which has an en-suite shower room and French doors to the rear garden. Two more bedrooms, a double and a twin, and a second shower room are on the ground floor. Both shower rooms have walk-in showers and underfloor heating.

The first floor holds a snug with a wood burner and a Smart TV, and a picture window over open countryside. On the second floor is a double-height open-plan living, dining and kitchen room, with an open fire, a dining table and views over rolling countryside towards the sea in the distance. The kitchen has an electric oven, a gas hob, a SMEG fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher and a coffee machine. Logs are included.

Outside, a Purbeck stone walled garden has a lawn, a terrace, outdoor furniture, a BBQ, an outdoor shower and a woodstore. An outhouse utility room holds the washing machine and tumble dryer. Parking is unrestricted on the road. Children under 2 are not accepted because of the layout, and dogs are not allowed. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out before 10am. The cottage suits a family with children over 2, or six adults, who are happy with steps and several floors.
