Mole Cottage - Notton Hill Barns

Mole Cottage is a barn conversion in Notton, near Dorchester, with Frampton nearby, one of four adjoining 18th-century flint and stone properties at the end of a long drive. The drive crosses a working farm and is unmade in places. It sleeps five: a super-king that can become twin beds on request, a double, and a single with electric blackout blinds. It suits a family of five. Dogs are not allowed.

You enter through a hallway with a separate WC, and the kitchen is on the right, lit by a large window. It has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge freezer and a dishwasher. Next is the open-plan lounge and dining area, where seating is arranged around the wood burner (first basket of logs included) and the Smart TV, with the dining table opposite. The bedrooms and the bathroom are upstairs, and the bathroom has a shower over the bath and a WC. A highchair and travel cot are available; linen is not supplied.

From the lounge, French doors go to a private patio with furniture and a charcoal BBQ, and beyond is an open lawn screened partly by hedging. A shared games room at the end of the row has a 3-in-1 pool, table tennis and air hockey table, a dart board, and board games and books. A shared laundry room has two washing machines and a tumble dryer, and bicycles can be stored securely on request.

The two parking spaces are off the road, in front of the cottage. A dedicated 7.6kW EV charger works by app or with the RFID fob supplied, and charges cost extra. CCTV covers the games room, drive and parking area, and the green space is obscured from recording in the holiday season. Water is a private supply. The beach is 7 miles away, and the shop and pub are 2 miles.
