Oke Apple Cottage

Oke Apple Cottage is a single-storey barn conversion in the grounds of the owners' 17th century thatched cottage, close to the North Dorset village of Okeford Fitzpaine. The market town of Sturminster Newton is nearby. The village shop and pub are a 20 minute walk away.

Everything is on the ground floor. The one bedroom has a super king-size bed that can be set up as two singles on request, and the shower room has a shower, basin and WC. The open-plan living area has a fitted kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with an electric flame-effect fire, and patio doors from the kitchen lead to a private terrace. Guests share the rear lawned garden and the natural swimming pond, and bicycles can be stored securely. Parking is off the road for one car.

One small, well-behaved dog is welcome but must stay on a lead at all times, because there is livestock; the owner has four dogs and keeps chickens on site. Children under 8 are not accepted and smoking is not allowed. Between April and October, stays of seven nights or more change over on a Friday. It suits a couple who want a quiet rural base, with or without a small dog.
