The Brick Barn - Darknoll Farm

The Brick Barn is a detached, brick-built barn conversion on Darknoll Farm, an organic farm half a mile from the village of Okeford Fitzpaine, where there is a shop and a pub. Sturminster Newton is 3 miles away. The approach is an unmade lane and a shared drive that is bumpy in places.

Everything is in one studio-style room under a vaulted ceiling with original beams. The kitchen runs along the left of the entrance, with an electric oven and hob, a Nespresso machine and a fridge with an ice compartment, and a dining table opposite. A seating area faces the Smart TV and the wood burner, which comes with a first basket of logs. The king-size bed is to the right of the entrance door, and an en-suite shower room leads off the main space.

French doors at the rear open onto a covered, enclosed gravel terrace with outdoor furniture and, in summer, a charcoal barbecue. The garden gate has a gap beneath it, so it is not fully secure for small dogs. Two cars can park off-road in allocated spaces. There is an all-weather sports barn next to the property for tennis, badminton or volleyball, with rackets and balls provided, which guests arrange directly with the owner. A travel cot and highchair can be requested when booking.

Two dogs are allowed, with extra charges. This is a studio for two, so it suits a couple who want a vaulted, beamed room and a wood burner rather than separate living space.
