Old Dairy House

The Old Dairy House is in Arne, a tiny village near Wareham, on the edge of the RSPB reserve, with walks leading out towards Poole Harbour. It was a working dairy until the Second World War. It sleeps eight in four bedrooms and has books and games for the family.

The kitchen has a large walk-in pantry, a double oven, an electric hob, a fridge and a dishwasher, and the dining room has a table with seating for ten, plus a highchair. There are two sitting rooms, both with a log burner. The first has a flagstone floor and a large open fireplace, and the second has a flatscreen TV, DVD, CD and radio. The four bedrooms are one floor up from the living rooms: a super-king-size, a king-size and two twins with 3ft beds. A laundry room has a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

The large garden has lawns, a patio, garden furniture, a charcoal BBQ, a wooden swing, and a rope swing and ladder, plus a raised seating area with views across the harbour. Children need to be supervised on the play equipment. The private driveway takes five cars.

WiFi is full-fibre, with download speeds of 150Mb. Linen and towels are provided, but guests need their own beach towels, and a travel cot is provided, though you need to bring cot bedding. One dog is allowed, downstairs only, and additional charges may apply. The shop and pub are 3.5 miles away and the beach 10.5 miles. The house suits a family or two families who want a garden to play in.
