Old Lamb Cottage

Old Lamb Cottage is a stone cottage on the fringe of Marnhull, the village linked with Thomas Hardy. The market town of Sturminster Newton lies 2.5 miles to the south, and Shaftesbury is 7.5 miles north-east. It sleeps five, in two double rooms and a single.

A step leads up to the porch, then you reach an open-plan living space with a stable stall divider down the middle. The lounge has timber beams, a Smart TV and an open fire in an original inglenook fireplace, and the first basket of logs is provided. A dining table sits at the back, and a glass door leads to the kitchen, which has an electric oven and hob, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine, plus a second breakfast table. All three bedrooms share one family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The courtyard garden is unenclosed and has soft outdoor seating, outdoor storage and a charcoal barbecue, with a lawn at the front of the house. From the owner's garden you can reach a meadow, with a footpath down to the village. Parking is off-road. A shop and a pub or restaurant are within a mile. A video doorbell covers the front door, and CCTV covers the wider grounds.

Dogs are not allowed. The cottage suits a family of up to five, or a couple with a friend, who want walking from the door and a log fire in the evening.
