Old Ropemakers Cottage

Old Ropemakers Cottage is a stone cottage on three floors in the market town of Bridport, reached by a footpath from Diment Square. It takes its name from the town's rope-making past. The shop is 0.1 miles away, the pub 0.5 miles and the beach 2.3 miles.

The living/dining room is built around a fireplace with a wood-burning stove. No logs, kindling or firelighters are supplied, so bring your own. The kitchen has an electric oven, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge with an ice box, a washing machine, a kettle and a toaster. There is Freeview TV, WiFi, books and a selection of games, and gas central heating. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

The king-size bedroom and the family bathroom, which has a bath with a shower over, are on the first floor. A further flight of stairs leads to the twin bedroom on the second floor. Out front, the enclosed garden has a patio and furniture.

Parking is on the road, first come, first served, and if it is full there is another street nearby; that may mean a walk of a few minutes. One well-behaved dog is welcome and smoking is not allowed. Check-in is from 4pm, check-out is by 10am, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. It suits a couple, or a couple with a child or friend, who are happy with stairs and street parking.
