Pitt Cottage

Pitt Cottage is a thatched house in Ringstead, beside Ringstead Bay, standing in about half an acre of its own land. The lounge has a large open fireplace and sea views, and patio doors open onto a big lawned garden with a hedge on either side. A wooded area lies behind the house. Fuel for the fire is provided in autumn and winter.

The ground floor has a kitchen with a dining area, an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a washer/dryer and a dishwasher. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms: a super-king with an en-suite bath, a separate shower, a basin and a WC, and two twin rooms, which share a second bathroom with a bath. Heating is oil-fired central heating, bed linen and towels are included, and a cot is available.

Four cars fit off the road. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, but not in the bedrooms or on the furniture, and a supplement applies for bringing pets. The garden is not entirely enclosed, and the wood to the north has a pheasant release pen behind a low electric fence, so keep dogs and children from wandering there unsupervised. The way in passes through a field that may have cattle in it, the stairs are steeper than normal, and mobile signal varies by network. Smoking is not allowed.

Changeover is on Saturday only, though another day may be possible by prior agreement. The cottage suits a family or two couples who want a sea view and space, and it can be booked alongside Woodlands Cottage, The Transmitter Bunker and The Standby Generator Bunker for a bigger party.
