Pomme Blushe House

Pomme Blushe House is a restored period house dating from 1839, built of Dorset cob stone and standing just outside Shipton Gorge. A winding lane with paddocks on either side leads to it, with views across open countryside and glimpses of the sea towards Burton Bradstock. There are sheep in the surrounding areas. The New Inn, the village pub, is a short walk down the lane, and a pub is 0.4 miles away.

The sitting room has a woodburning stove, and the kitchen has a double-height ceiling and a dining table for six. Bedrooms are a family room with a king-size and a single bed, a double, and a ground-floor twin. The bathroom has a roll-top bath with a hand-held shower and a separate walk-in shower, and a second shower room has a walk-in shower, basin and WC. Oil central heating is installed, and the rent covers fuel, power, a starter pack for the stove, bed linen and towels. A highchair and travel cot are available on request.

The enclosed garden has a lawned area, a patio, outdoor furniture and two wooden recliners. The garden also has a wood-fired hot tub, which is not available for use while the hosepipe ban remains in place. Parking is on the private driveway. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am. New Year and Easter bookings have a seven-night minimum, and a good housekeeping bond is payable.

Pets are welcome, and smoking is not allowed. It suits a family or a group of friends travelling with a pet who want a cob-built house with room to spread out.
