Riverside Cottage - South Perrott

Riverside Cottage is a thatched cottage in South Perrott, a Dorset village on the border with Somerset, near Beaminster. A private entrance door opens from the lane straight into the hallway. It sleeps five.

The hallway has an original flagstone floor, uneven in places, with one step down. The lounge has a decorative fireplace and a Smart TV, the dining room has a second feature fireplace, and the kitchen/dining room has an electric AGA, a microwave, a dishwasher, a Nespresso machine (pods not included), two fridges and a freezer. A pantry leads off it, and next to it is a utility room with a washer, dryer and sink. The conservatory and a ground-floor bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC complete the downstairs. The wood burner cannot be used under any circumstances because of the thatch.

An open tread oak staircase rises to three bedrooms: a double with an en-suite shower room, another double, and a single with a pull-out trundle bed that can be requested. Through the sunroom, the garden is fully enclosed and split over two levels, with a walled courtyard, low steps up to a terrace with furniture under an apple tree, a lawn and a vegetable patch where guests may help themselves to seasonal produce.

Off-road parking is for 2 cars, though charging electric cars is not permitted at the property. Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. The shop is 1.25 miles away, the pub 1.4 miles and the beach 11 miles. The cottage suits a family or group of friends who are happy with uneven floors and an open staircase.
