Rope Cottage

Rope Cottage is a Grade II listed former rope maker's cottage in Bridport, set over three floors with room for four. The living room and dining area share a woodburning stove, and large stained glass doors colour the light. The kitchen is compact, with a gas oven and hob, a grill, a microwave, a fridge with an icebox and a washer/dryer, and a cloakroom with a basin and WC sits beside it.

The first floor holds the twin bedroom and a shower room with a generous walk-in shower. The king-size bedroom is above, in the loft space under the eaves, with a skylight window. Because of the age of the building, the stairs are steeper and narrower than in modern homes and may not be suitable for the elderly, infirm or young children, so weigh that up before booking. There is a Smart TV and WiFi, gas central heating, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included.

To the rear, the cottage shares a courtyard garden with neighbouring properties, and it is not enclosed. Pets and smoking are not allowed. Parking is on the road on a first-come, first-served basis, and a nearby car park takes stays of 2, 3 or 7 days. The shop is 0.3 miles away, the pub 0.1 miles and the beach 2.4 miles. It suits a couple or two friends without a dog who like a walkable town base.
