Rosedale Cottage

Rosedale Cottage sits on a no-through lane in Osmington, and you come in from the rear garden through a porch into a hall with room for coats and boots. The kitchen and dining room is beamed and double aspect, with oak worktops, an original bread oven and an inglenook that holds the family dining table. The sitting room has exposed stone walls, oak floors and a wood burner, and French doors open to the garden.

Seven people can stay. The first floor has two king-size bedrooms, each with an en-suite shower room, one of which also has a single bed, and a twin room with exposed stone walls and a feature fireplace. A third bathroom is downstairs, down three steps from the hall. The kitchen has a hob, double oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and Nespresso machine. The utility room holds a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer.

The wood burner comes with logs and coal from October to the end of April, but not kindling or firelighters. Outside are a level rear lawn with flower beds, a terrace with seating and a BBQ. Parking is for 3 cars, and an electric vehicle charger is available, paid for directly at the charge point. Bring your own beach and pool towels. A farm shop and cafe are 600 yards away and the pub is less than 2 miles.

Dogs are not allowed. Check-in is from 15:00 and departure is before 10:00. The cottage is placed for the White Horse hill figure on the South Dorset Downs, said to date from 1808. It suits a family or group of up to seven who want a house with period features.
