Rowdens Barn

Rowdens Barn was animal housing for the farm before it became a single-storey cottage, about a mile from Winterborne Stickland. Exposed beams run through the open-plan living area, where the kitchen, dining area and sitting area share one room and a woodburning stove adds to the electric heating. A stable door leads out to the garden. Everything is on the ground floor.

Rowdens Barn welcomes two well-behaved dogs, kept on a lead on the premises because of livestock nearby. Walkers using the footpaths and farm tracks are asked to take care around crops. Smoking is not allowed.

There are two bedrooms, a king-size double and a twin, sleeping four, and one bathroom with a bath and a shower over it. The kitchen has an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, and a FreeSat TV, DVD player, WiFi, books and games are also provided. The rent includes fuel, power and a starter pack for the stove, and the owner sells extra fuel. Bed linen and towels are supplied for every bed space, and a travel cot and highchair can be requested.

The private garden is enclosed and laid to lawn, with a patio and a picnic bench. Guests also have a larger shared front lawn and a shared games room with a pool table, table football and air hockey. Parking is ample and off the road, there is covered bike storage, and the EV charger works through the Pod Point app. The pub is 1 mile away and the shop 5 miles. Good for a couple or small family with dogs who want a compact ground-floor cottage.
