Sea Gem

Sea Gem is a three-storey house on a residential street in Castletown, on the Isle of Portland, with room for seven. Castletown is in the Portland area, and the house is close to Portland Castle, Osprey Leisure Centre and Portland Marina. The kitchen/diner is on the ground floor, with a breakfast bar and an extendable table that seats seven.

Each floor has its own bedrooms. On the ground floor is a small double that shares a Jack-and-Jill shower room with a basin and WC. The first floor has the sitting room, a double bedroom with a Smart TV, and a family bathroom with a bath, a separate shower, a basin and a WC. Upstairs on the second floor are a king-size and a double, each with a Smart TV and an en-suite with a walk-in shower, basin and WC. That makes four bathrooms in all.

French doors open onto a private, enclosed courtyard with a patio, outdoor furniture, sun loungers, an outdoor tap and an AstroTurf play area, plus space to hang wetsuits. Private parking holds two cars. There are five Smart TVs with Freeview, an Xbox, WiFi, and a selection of books and games. The kitchen has a double oven with grill, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a washer/dryer, a dishwasher and a Nespresso machine. A highchair is available.

Fuel and power, bed linen and towels are included, but bring your own beach towels. A good-housekeeping bond is payable. No pets and no smoking. A shop and pub are 0.3 miles away and the beach is 1 mile. The house suits a family or a group of friends who want a ground-floor bedroom for one guest and a private courtyard.
