Spinners Hatch

Spinners Hatch is a Grade II-listed, 17th-century cottage in Beaminster that began life as a storehouse for the local mill. Exposed beams run through the rooms, and the open-plan living and dining area is entered through three steps. The village shop and pubs are less than 500 metres away, and the beach is 8 miles.

The living area has a flagstone floor, a yellowstone hearth with a wood burner, sofas, a TV and a DVD/Blu-ray player, and logs are supplied free during the winter months. Table football stands in the dining area. In the kitchen, a window seat overlooks the rear garden, and original hatch windows look into the lounge. The kitchen has a gas hob, an electric oven, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washer/dryer.

The bathroom is on the ground floor and has reduced head height. Upstairs are a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and a twin whose zip-and-link beds can be joined into a king-size if you say which you prefer when booking. Cooling fans are placed in both bedrooms from June to September.

The garden is fully enclosed, with a lockable side entrance, a raised patio with furniture, a stone wall with mature shrubs and storage for bikes. One small dog stays free of charge. Children under 5 are not accepted. The cottage suits a couple, or two couples, who want a cottage with character, a wood burner and a garden for a small dog.
